Designer Spotlight | Adeola Sageo

In order to commemorate my trip to Nigeria I decided to  do an exposé on a notable Nigerian designer and visual haute-couture designer Adeola Sageo.
The best thing I believe a person could have is pride in is who they are, in their country and most importantly in their culture. A fascinating woman has achieved all of the above, which led to the inspiration for this post. Sageo is a conqueror that has used her voice through their designs to express Nigeria’s culture to the world through different unique designs using expressive colourful fabrics inspired by Africa.
So who is Adeola Sageo ?

Adeola Sageo is a highly acclaimed fashion designer from Ondo state in Nigeria. Sageo began to design in 1998 and since then has gained international fame for her lively, edgy and colourful designs. She’s a mother of three who studied at the University of Miami and University of Lagos with a Masters in Finance and Management. As one of Nigeria’s best known fashion designers Sageo has won numerous awards including the Best African Designer awards and has represented The continent of Africa at New York Fashion Week.
Sageo’s work has been compared to a works of art and famous faces like that of Will smith ,Samuel.L Jackson and Oprah Winfrey have attended her shows. Sageo finds new ways to constantly incorporate African vibes and cultural characteristics to her design and that is truly admirable and without doubt unique.
“My biggest inspiration is Africa, the different textures, the colours, the culture, the people, the the vibe

OUTFIT: White on White | Nigeria

Shirt// Zara
 Watch// Michael Kors
Chain// Asos

Bag// H&M

Jeans\\ H&M

Shoes\\ NewLook

Hi beautiful ladies, so as some of you may know I'm currently in Nigeria so I decided to do an outfit post for you guys. This outfit in particular is mostly suited to that busy Lagos or Lekki lifestyle. So I grabbed my Zara shirt which I bought right before I left Ireland and (omg!) I have to say I just adore the shirt. I spotted it with my eagle eyes !!!1
With this shirt there are two options:
1)It can be buttoned all the way to the neck to give that "i'm a grown woman ...Beyonce" working woman and classy look.
2)you can just leave two buttons open at the top like I did to give that playful and youthful feel to it(This option is more suited to the Nigeria weather).

The Jeans I picked up on my quite recent trip to America.Picked them up at H&M for $20 and I love the fit of them but they are just a tinchy bit too tall for me, so I will be getting them fitted to my height. The shoes I love because they are so simple. They remind me of Zara heels but nope they are actually from Newlook,The moment I spotted them I knew they belonged in my shoe collection.

So I complimented the whole outfit with my Michael Kors watch,my Asos gold chain and my H&M bag in Turquoise.....et voila! The outfit was complete.

   Until Next time beauties,

River Island's A/W 2014 Collection | Is it worth it ?

Just like a gust of wind, I caught a glimpse of River Island’s A/W collection online and Ladies … you know autumn winter is my favourite time of the year and I can tell you now you wont be disappointed this year.
Honestly speaking River Island has been disappointing for me in recent years but I have to say the high street retailer have a huge selection of contrasting trends in their collection this A/w. The collection consists of the usual winter blacks and grey, all whites, 60’s pastels, winter florals and colourful hip and preppy prints. Metallic, leather and fringing feature heavily throughout the collection, but it was the plush faux fur pieces that really caught my eye.
Faux Fur has been a huge trend the past few years and it’s making another comeback, as it’s here to stay. With the type of variety River Island are providing this A/W …they will definitely have you covered.
In conclusion the collection is classy, chic and edgy but also girly and fun. The collection will start to pop up in River Island from august 2014 and this one will be hard to miss.

   Until Next time,
